January 5th, 2010 - SPEP Week 1 Reminders

Hi Class,

We hope everyone had a relaxing holiday!! Here are some quick reminders for the 1st week of SPEP:

Check EMS and ROSI to make sure everything is correct (ie. your courses, forms, immunizations) and that any extra requirements by your SPEP site have been fulfilled.
Fill out your SPEP Work/Education Placement agreement form and fax it in to Lucy Gabinet (416-946-3841) within 1-2 days of the start of your rotation.
Go over Form PB verbally with your preceptor during the first week – this does not need to be handed in until both week 4 and week 8 of your rotation.
Briefly think about your learning objectives (personal & site-specific) and be prepared to discuss it with your preceptor during the first week and put this into your learning portfolio as you will have to review this with your next preceptor at your next SPEP rotation – this does not need to be handed in until week 2 of your rotation.

Just so everyone knows what they need to do, have a quick run-through of your syllabus one more time on your own. Also, remember to keep your own copies of all the forms that you either fax/hand in just in case!

If anyone has any questions, feel free to contact us or if they are of an urgent nature, refer to page 2 of the SPEP syllabus to contact the appropriate administrative staff.
